Have we really come that close to a 1984 world dictatorship? Every click you make with your computer mouse; every Google search you request and or fulfill ("Google recently began circulating a new policy that will take place effective March 1, 2012." Simon Black, sovereignman.com); every transaction you make on the Internet, your I.P. address and cookie are registered somewhere deep in the bowels (mountains) around Washington and other government centers. One day this could come back and haunt you?
The writer, author, philosopher - George Orwell, saw his world of 1948 slowly deteriorating into an unwanted and undesired "Big Brother is watching you!" world, he titled "1984". To say he was a dreamer, revolutionary or social outcast is totally wrong!
George Orwell said, "During times of universal deceit, telling the truth becomes a revolutionary act." He was the Nostradamus of the 20th Century and probably the same for the 21st Century. He based his writings and thoughts mainly on history and the turbulent times he lived in.
It was the beginning of the "Cold War" (between communism and the rest of the world). The "Cold War" began officially in 1945 but started with the blockade of West Berlin in 1947. It was the time of reflection over the mess that the Nazis left behind. All his writings, including his novels, "1984" and "Animal Farm" depicted the world as it was to him back then.
Everyday now a war or revolution is being fought someplace in the world. Egypt, Tunisia, Syria, Iraq, Afghanistan and much of the Arabic world are in a state of revolution, radical social change and war. The United States is force to send its young as cannon fodder throughout the world. Israel feels a growing threat from a want-to-be Persian Empire. Syria is about to explode or has already exploded into a civil war. Argentina wants some barren islands returned? Where else? You name it, the war drums will never stop beating!
We are not quite there yet, but "Big Brother" gains more control of your computer "mouse" everyday and this just might happen to us? When the Internet was born, it was at first only for the military. Soon it cracked its shell and branched out into the world. Society, meaning living together, slowly died and was replaced by a click of the mouse. People stopped hugging and talking to each other and confined themselves to a keyboard, I-pad, smart phone, blackberry and that mouse. In many ways our freedom has disappeared and has been replaced by our slavery to the new master, the Internet!
Here in America, an elementary school education was once believed to be good enough to succeed in life. One learned how to read, write, add and subtract. That was maybe 90 to 100 years ago. This belief was superseded by the need for a high school education. At first, one learned some more than what they had learned in the elementary school, but soon peer pressure became more important and learning less.
This high school education became not enough and a college degree was needed. Then this wasn't enough and a Masters degree was requested and demanded. One day it will come to pass that because the level of reading, writing and adding/subtracting is not on the level of that elementary school training, a PhD will be requested.
I am reminded of an incident that exemplifies our education system here. It probably is no different in many parts of the industrialized world. A young teacher took her students (3rd or 4th grade) on a field trip to a local museum dedicated to World War II. In the presence of a museum docent (volunteer, guide), she said to her students, "children, today you will learn a lot about World War Eleven!"
Until the above becomes reality, which I hope and pray never happens, you owe it to yourself and family to make the best of life your goal and to achieve some sort of financial freedom. It is not too late to do this with a good home based business, where you set the goals!
